Long overdue update!

6 month pictures:

7 months...family pictures:

Having 2 kids has kept me very busy. I don't have nearly as much time to blog as I did with one kid (and that wasn't much time to begin with). It is amazing how much Emily has changed over the past few months. She is very mobile, not quite crawling yet, but rolling and army crawling and getting up on all 4s...it'll be soon. She's been sitting up independently for awhile but yesterday she started doing it really, really well without using her arms for support and for a longer period of time. Also over the past few days she has figured out how to sit herself up from laying down. Emily loves to play with toys which really drive Nathan crazy because he thinks all the toys are his. We started solids a few weeks ago. Emily loves squash, likes peas and carrots, doesn't care too much for green beans, and seems indifferent about pears and applesauce.

I've given up on the monthly "bear" pictures (in case you didn't figure that out). We moved the chair downstairs to the basement at Christmas time to make room for the tree and never brought it back up and it just didn't seem right to not use the same chair. I know it's silly, but oh well.

And this will have to be the end of the blog post because somebody needs a diaper change...it's a stinky.

The Zoo

Since we had such beautiful weather today I took the kids to the zoo. This was Emily's third zoo trip but she still has yet to see much of the zoo since she insisted on sleeping most of the time.

We have a screamer

Emily has discovered her voice and she is making sure we all know it. She is currently enjoying making a very high pitched screaming noise.

Little Girl on the Go

Emily can now roll over belly to back so that means she can roll both ways and has spent most of the evening rolling around on the floor having a grand old time. I guess it's time to baby proof again.

She DId It!

Emily has finally rolled over for the first time! Daddy, Mommy, and Nathan were playing a game and Emily was "watching" laying on the ground on her back and right as we finished the game she rolled over to her belly. Jon and I both saw it happening and cheered really loud, which scared Nathan, but Emily was all smiles.

Update: Added Pictures, more pictures to come

It is so hard to find time to blog, the kids keep me busy. I have already fallen through with my idea to take the monthly bear picture. When we put our Christmas tree up we had to take the chair to the basement and it hasn't made it's way back up yet.

Emily is now almost 5 months old. She is such a sweet little girl. She still isn't rolling over but that is fine with us. She gets so close but then gets stuck.

Emily's first Thanksgiving was rather uneventful, she couldn't eat any yummy food yet. We spent Turkey Day with Grandpa and Grandma S since Grandpa B was getting married just a few days later.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving was Grandpa B's wedding so now we have a Grandpa and Grandma B. Emily was very well behaved at the wedding (can't say the same thing abut her big brother).

Just before Christmas we got the greatest present we could ask for, official court placement of Emily, which means it's now a short 5 months to finalization (we hope, who knows with our county court system).
Just a cute picture showing off her beautiful smile (and while it may look like a tooth on the bottom I assure you it isn't, we are still all gums here).

Emily's first Christmas was a busy one. It started with our traditional opening of the Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve. Then presents at home and at Grandma and Grandpa S's house on Christmas Day. Then presents at Grandpa and Grandma B's house on the 26th.

So far in 2009 Emily has had her 4 month well check. She is a healthy girl and weighed 13 lbs 14 oz and was 24 inches tall. We took a short weekend vacation to Grand Rapids where Emily stayed in her first hotel, not that she will remember any of it. We attempted to take her swimming at the hotel but the pool was way to cold for mommy to go in so it had to be too cold for little Em. We did stick our feet in the hot tub though while daddy and Nathan splashed around.

That's pretty much all that's new with the Emster. We tried solids a week or so ago but she still has the tongue reflex so it was pointless and we will continue to wait (we were hoping to wait until closer to 6 months anyway but she was having a growth spurt and was constantly hungry so we decided to give it a try). I have so many pictures in my camera to upload but my computer is full and won't hold any more until I delete stuff or get an external hard drive...not sure which will come first, but until one of those things happens there are no sweet little Emily pictures to share.
